So much snow.

It's snowing so much and so constantly. There is a foot of snow outh there at least. and I'm not measuring where it might pile up, I'm measuring in the flat areas of the back yard that haven't been touched yet. It's amazing! But I'm not so sure it's and entirely good thing. The weather is making it impossible for my sister Kari to come home for Christmas. She has been waiting at the airport for two days and isn't able to come home. We're really worried, and she isn't very happy. The main problem is that no planes are leaving the Portland airport, so no planes can come in. The planes aren't leaving because all three of the airport's de-icers are broken down right now. What rotten luck. The planes cannot fly with ice on thier wings, so we are grounded.
We also had an ice storm last night. So there's eight inches of snow, a thin layer of ice, and then another 4 inches of snow on top of that. it's kind of funny to watch people walk in it. But it's even better to watch my dog, Gideon walk through it. He's a Jack Russle Terrior. the snow comes up to his neck. Gideon is also fairly light. He tends to stick to the path he has already cut through the snow. Every time he leaves that path it's funny, because he gets on top, but then the ice breaks, and he falls right through. So you see him for a second, and then he's gone, hidden in the snow. I think the only way he gets through, is that he eats so much of the snow. That must be part of how he carves his path.
It's snowing right now. Matthew is going to have to shovel out his car in the morning again! And he's probably going to have to take the shovel with him to work tomorrow too so that he can get out of the snow.
Tomorrow is the start of the real Christmas break. It's so wierd. I can't believe that today was Sunday. It doesn't feel right. They canceled Church today. I don't like it. No church on Sunday just feels wrong.
Yesterday was our ward's Christmas Breakfast. I served food. It was so much fun. I felt like a waitress, with only polite and good customers. I loved it. I didn't get to see Santa though, because I was running back and forth between the kitchen and the gymnasium where we were serving the food.
I'm missing my friends. I haven't seen anyone very often like I'm used to. It's hard to be snowed in, but it is so very beautiful that I can't truly resent it. I think though, that a snowball fight, would be very enjoyable with friends right now.

White Christmas?

Wow, I'm so new I don't even know what I just did. Is my blog always going to be titled "White Christmas?" Because I only wanted this one titled that. Oh well I'll figure it out later.

By the way, Bing Crosby is a really good singer. And a good actor. He's cool.

I've had only one day of school this week because of snow. How exciting is that!?! Of course we'll have to make up for it later, but I'm happy now. It's so beautiful outside! And it's so close to Christmas, I think we just might have a White Christmas this year. I don't remember having a white Christmas before, so I'm really excited.

My sister Kari is coming home tomorrow. We can't wait to see her. But this year she's the only one comming home. My two oldest brothers won't come home, because they got married this summer. But I wish them thier own Merry Christmases.
